Earth Day Potluck and Seed Swap

In celebration of Earth Day, come join us for an evening of sharing food and swapping seeds and plants! If you don’t have anything to swap, that’s fine too. Come for the potluck and company!
We will also have a sign up sheet for anyone interested in sharing a skill at future skill share meet ups.

WHAT TO BRING:
- Please bring a simple dish, drink, or snack to share potluck style. Eating utensils and plates will be provided.
- Bring one more more items to swap. (If you plan to swap)
Some item ideas: seeds (store bought or harvested), cuttings, seedlings/starts, seed potatoes, succulents, house plants, etc. Other garden items are welcome too
HOW IT WORKS:
- For this swap you can trade an item your brought for another item that someone else brought: items are swapped 1-for-1.
- Each swapper sets what 1 item is: 1 pack of seeds, 5 seed potatoes, 1 bundle of cuttings, 3 seedlings, etc.
- No haggling please. We want this to be a fair and friendly swap for all! Please avoid thinking of swapped items in terms of monitory value. Instead the items swapped should be something you and your swapping partner value for what it is rather than how much it’s worth in dollars.
- Everyone gets a name tag so we can meet each other and also know who made what.
- Labels will be provided for you to label your item with:
1. The name of the item(s) you are swapping.
2. The name of the person who made the item (you).
3. Notes regarding the item (planting instructions, etc).
- Each item label will also have a section for “bids”.
- When the swap begins, everyone will place their item bids. You may place 3 bids per item you’ve brought to swap.
- When the bids are all in, it’s time to swap! Chat with each other. Ask if the maker of the item you’ve bid on is interested in swapping for the item you’ve brought. Be polite and have fun!
- This will probably end up going freestyle, but these rules are a good guide to start, making sure everyone has a good time, meets some new folks, and maybe learns something new.
PLEASE NOTE: The ‘bid cards’ are only a starting place, you do not have to swap with people on your cards or ones you’ve signed up for- Please make sure each swap it done FACE TO FACE with the other person agreeing to the swap!
