Exploring Wild Plants with Ted Watt

October 6, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Please join Just Roots this Saturday, Oct 6 from 10am-12pm, as they walk throughout the farm property with the delightful, enthusiastic and brilliant Ted Watt, learning about what plants and trees call this land home.

The Workshop: Explore the woods edges and woodlands around the growing fields for wild plants. What are their names and how can you distinguish them?  What habitats do they prefer? What are they doing at this time of the year?  How can we use some of them? Bring your curiosity and wonder at the diversity of wonderful plants that share this little piece of the planet with us!

Our Fantastic Instructor: Ted Watt is an Environmental Educator who has worked at the Hitchcock Center for the Environment located in Amherst, MA for over 20 years, teaching children and adults about the wonders of the world we live in through exploring the outdoors.

Logistics: Please park in the big field beyond the barn, and walk downhill to the kiosk in front of the greenhouse.  This is where we will begin the walk!  If you’re having any trouble finding your way, head up to the front of the big red barn and there will be people there to help you.

Our workshops are FREE FOR JUST ROOTS CSA MEMBERS
Non-members: sliding scale fee of $0-$15*
*A contribution of $10-$15 for the event helps us bring in talented instructors, get the word out, cover materials and preparation, and run our programs at an affordable cost for all! No one will be turned away for lack of funds and we appreciate you contributing what you can.
