Farm Employment Laws Made Simple

February 18 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us for the 5th workshop in our Employment Series, focused on the essentials of farm employment law. This session will be led by Farm Commons, a trusted national resource for legal education tailored to farmers.

The workshop will cover farm employment law fundamentals, including wage and hour rules, worker classification, and compliance basics, with a dedicated segment on H-2A employment. The H-2A program allows agricultural employers to hire temporary foreign workers when there are not enough U.S. workers available. We’ll review what the program is, when it applies, and key legal responsibilities for employers considering or already using H-2A labor.

This workshop is ideal for beginning and intermediate farmers who are thinking about hiring their first employee or who want to strengthen their understanding of how farm labor laws apply to their operation and team.
