From Seed to Stomach: An Introduction to Mindful Eating

Certified mindfulness instructor Leslie Smith Frank will offer an introduction to the practice of mindfulness and mindful eating. Mindfulness invites us to use all of our senses when we eat, which may change our relationship to what is on our plate.

Sharing food they prepare themselves, participants will practice tuning in to taste, hunger, and fullness. By bringing to mind the cultivation and growth of each ingredient, the experience of sharing a meal can become a rich celebration!

Participants are encouraged to make the food from locally grown ingredients whenever possible. A great way to prepare for this event is to do your shopping the morning of the event at the Northampton Winter Farmers’ Market. Ask the farmer questions like the following, and keep the answers in mind when you prepare and eat the food.

-Where is your farm?
-Do you use organic or sustainable farming methods?
-What other foods do you grow?

This is a FREE event, but you must RSVP to find out the location.
