Simple Gifts Farm is managed as an ecological unit, integrating vegetable crops and livestock. Their vision is to use this community-owned land as an ecologically and economically sustainable unit and to maintain it as a beautiful community asset.
The tour will include how greenhouses, low tunnels and caterpillars are used to protect Fall plantings of spinach, onions and kale and spring plantings of cucumbers, bedding plants and baby greens. Learn how the Highland Cattle are integral partners in the soil health. Meet Little John (the new John Deere tractor) and the Chicken tractor too!
