Workshop: Beecentric Methods of Beekeeping

Hosted by the UMass Amherst Beekeeping Club, Michael Joshin Thiele, of Gaia Bees, will help us redefine our relationship with bees and create a new paradigm of caring for bees. Participants will learn about a biodynamic approach to apiculture, the unique matrix of life of honeybees and their intricate inner organization. How can we heal the earth through healing the life of bees? Michael will speak about biodynamic apiculture and a treatment free, bee-centered approach. Topics may include alternative hive designs, working with natural comb, biodynamic management techniques, the examination of core principles of their instinctual needs, self sustaining apiaries & design, health and more.

This workshop will take place on Saturday April 2nd in Fernald Auditorium Room 11 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

This event is FREE for UMass Students. $20 for public.
