Workshop: Carbon Smart, No-Till Gardening and Farming
May 20, 2017 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Seeds of Solidarity founder and 3-decade farmer Ricky Baruc teaches his ways of building soil and nourishing soil life for low maintenance, highly productive gardens and small farms. No-till, carbon smart methods treat the soil as sacred, conserve water, help restore the climate, and result in amazing, life-force rich gardens and food! Ricky is one of 11 farmers across the nation participating in and advising Cornell’s research in sustainable, reduced and no-till methods. In this engaging, inspiring workshop participants will gain three major strategies for no-till gardening and farming, using simple tools and local materials to transform lawns, urban lots, or small farms into food bounty. Learning, implementing, and sharing no-till techniques is a great way to do your part to help mitigate the impact of global warming.
Sliding scale of $35-$50. Pre-registration requested, contact solidarity@seedsofsolidarity.org to sign up.
