Workshop: Simple Skiddable Sheds

Learn to design and build rugged yet simple skiddable structures, with a focus on efficient and effective building. We’ll look at several evolutions and sizes of movable sheds on-site. Next, we’ll discuss design considerations including building materials, flexibility, bracing, designing for de-construction and re-use, and motive power available to drag the intended structure. Course participants will then proceed to building a 10’ x 12’ shed frame. We will be building with native rough cut hemlock lumber, plus native hardwood skids.

 The final product (framed shed) will be made available to purchase by a course participant should it fit their own design needs.  What do students need to bring to class? – Participants should bring their own tape measure and tool belt if they wish to work in one.
