Thank you Phil!

“Our work has grown as our support from local businesses and residents has grown. CISA is equipped to creatively and strategically look ahead and take risks to face our current and future challenges. I am confident that more people in our community understand more deeply that what they buy, how they vote, where they invest, and who they share a meal with is a daily practice of love, connection and change.” – Phil Korman

CISA’s longtime Executive Director, Phil Korman, is moving on from CISA as of August 30th, which has invited a moment of reflection and gratitude.

  • Read Phil’s reflections about what has changed, and what hasn’t, during his  years of service to the western Massachusetts local food movement.
  • Listen to a special episode of the Fabulous 413 on New England Public Media on how local agriculture has evolved in Phil’s 16 years at CISA (including 13+ years doing radio with Monte!). Featuring Congressman Jim McGovern, Kat Chang from Reed Farm, Mike Wisseman from Warner Farm: what a great way to celebrate Phil’s legacy (so far) of facilitating good things for our local food system!
  • Do you have a message of thanks for Phil? Please add a note on his virtual card.

It’s also an opportunity to look ahead to new challenges and opportunities.

  • We are seeking our next Executive Director! Find the job posting and application materials here, and please help us spread the word.
  • If you’d like to make a gift in honor of Phil’s impact and to continue to support CISA’s important work, you can dedicate your gift here. CISA wouldn’t exist without the generous support of people like you who care about local farms and local food.

Your contribution allows CISA to help local farms adapt to growing in a changing climate, deepen equity and diversity in the local food system, and expand access to the local harvest to ensure that local agriculture continues to thrive for years to come.
