Hiring: Associate Director of Farm Operations, Prospect Meadow Farm

Associate Director of Farm Operations (Head Farmer)

Hatfield, MA

Full-time

We’re looking for an energetic, experienced farmer to oversee our two sites in Hatfield. Prospect Meadow Farm, a vocational program of ServiceNet, employs more than 70 farmhands who have a developmental disability or autism.

As head farmer, you will:

  • Manage the two properties
  • Develop farming plans for all operations, and supervise farming production
  • Train job coaches and farmhands in essential farming techniques
  • Oversee the community landscaping crew

Your farming skills are outstanding. And when you take on a project, you’re committed from start to finish—as if it was your own farm, your own business. You have high expectations of the people who work with you, too, and the patience and humor needed to keep morale high. A natural leader, you’re as comfortable teaching as you are in the field. And you have at least three years of solid farm management experience. An agricultural degree would be a plus. Since you’ll be traveling between the two sites and in the community, you’ll also need a license and vehicle.

This is a Monday-Friday position, 8am-4pm, with on-call responsibilities that may include occasional evening and weekend work. We offer a competitive salary and an outstanding benefits package, including generous paid time off; comprehensive health and dental insurance; a retirement plan with employer matching; and more!
