Groundswell is Hiring a New Executive Director!

Our Executive Director (ED) is the operational strategic leader who lays the groundwork for the organization. You will emphasize and develop racially-just, equitable and sustainable local food and farming systems. This position is an opportunity for you to make a difference in how agricultural systems work and who they work to support. The Groundswell community will provide you with a collaborative space to drive critical resources toward diverse food producers to bring equity and justice in agriculture closer to reality. Groundswell seeks a warm and open individual with demonstrated experience in:

  • equity, justice, and grassroots organizing
  • budget management and nonprofit fundraising
  • non-profit organizational leadership and management
  • sustainable agriculture, local and regional food systems and food justice

You will hold skills and knowledge acquired and developed through practical work experience and a curiosity that fosters continued learning and growth:

  • finding the positive in people and organizations
  • Lead as part of a team, equal stakeholder, effective communicator
  • Leadership qualities: collaborative, empathetic, relationship management, self-awareness

Employment Status: This is a full-time 40 hour/week, salaried position based in Ithaca, NY and funded in part by grants. Continuation of the position is contingent upon annual performance reviews and funding.

Salary & Benefits: Salary is $68,000. Competitive health and paid time off benefits provided.
