Hiring: Farm Hand – Quonquont Farm

Are you the kind of person who so craves a sense of order that you quietly align rugs with floor boards? Can you get carried away doing mindless tasks for hours on end? If you also love the idea of growing nutritious food in a glorious setting, we might just have the perfect job for you!

We have an opening for a full- or part-time, seasonal (through the end of October) farm hand. You’ll help us care for our crops throughout the growing season in our no-till vegetable fields as well as our blueberry, peach, and apple orchards.  You’ll weed, hoe, mow, chop, trim, prune, mulch, thin, harvest, wash, pack, schlep, throw tennis balls for dogs, set out some event chairs, and generally work long and hard. You’ll need to be available to work early in the morning and on at least one weekend day.

You’ll be outdoors in all weather, need to know your way around some tools (or be a quick study), and, ideally, you’ll have some experience working on a farm and driving a stick shift (don’t have those things, but think you have what it takes? Get out of your own way and make your case!). The starting wage is between $16 and $18 an hour, depending on your experience.

We are a small but mighty (and occasionally mighty silly) crew of people who care about our farm and the land. We hope you’ll join us.

If this sounds like your dream job, check out the job description, fill out this application and send it to us with your resume.

Please note that, for the 2022  season, all incoming  staff–including returning seasonal employees–must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to starting work.
