Compensation:  Commensurate with experience: $14.25 – $17.50 per hour

About Farmer Dave’s: 

Farmer Dave’s is a 90-acre diversified fruit and vegetable farm based in Dracut, Massachusetts. Our mission is growing healthy food, building a strong community, and creating lifelong traditions. We focus on providing a healthy product for our guests, our workers, the soil, and our global environment. Our home farm and farm stand is located in Dracut, MA, which is open year round. The East Street farm stand in Tewksbury, MA and Hill Orchard farm stand in Westford, MA are our two satellite farms. Farmer Dave’s participates in a dozen farmers’ markets, sustains a large year-round membership in our vegetable and fruit CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program, and offers PYO (Pick Your Own) experiences, including strawberries, peaches, blueberries, carrots, potatoes, flowers, and apples. Our commercial scratch kitchen creates baked goods and ready-to-eat meals from our own fruits and vegetables, strengthening our food system circle. Job Description:

Farmer Dave’s is looking to hire a positive, flexible, and hardworking landscaper to fill a unique position on the farm. The ideal candidate has 1-3 years growing experience (especially with perennial and annual flowers) or general landscaping and has a keen eye for aesthetics. This is a seasonal position, but we are willing to discuss other opportunities with the right candidate.

Main duties:

Spring

• Maintain our retail greenhouses with flowers and seedlings
• Ensure retail plants are well maintained
• Assist in filling our spring wholesale flower orders
• Spring cleanup of the grounds

Main Season

• Prepare, plant, and care for flower beds throughout the farm
• Prepare the grounds for PYO operations
• General landscaping including mowing and weed whacking
• Keep retail plants looking stunning

Fall

• Farm wide clean up
• Assist other areas of the business as needed
• Winterize tools, greenhouses, and implements
• Assist driving the tractor for hayrides during PYO and school tours
