Hiring: Production Assistant – Real Pickles

Real Pickles is a worker cooperative in Greenfield, MA, producing raw, fermented pickled foods from Northeast-grown, organic vegetables. Seeking production assistant whose responsibilities include all aspects of production: preparing fresh vegetables for fermentation (in season) and packaging finished product into glass jars. We make dill pickles, sauerkrauts, kimchi, ginger carrots, beets, kvass and hot sauce.

Work is physically demanding and repetitive. Applicants should be hard-working, reliable, and able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently. Experience with commercial food production, farming and natural foods is strongly preferred. We will verify your Covid-19 vaccination status before hire. Compensation: $15/hour and 50% health insurance paid if working 30+ hours/wk.

We are hiring for 3-4 shifts per week. Shifts are Monday through Friday 8am – 4:45pm with a 45 minute unpaid lunch break with a mid-week day off yet to be determined. Job begins in August. Must be able to commit to at least 6 months on this schedule. Please do not apply if you are not available for at least 3 shifts.
