Hiring: Winter Field Crew – Lombrico Farm

This part-time role offers flexible scheduling, 18+ hours per week starting in Early October

Our ideal candidate:

  • Has at least one year of vegetable farm, restaurant or related fast paced general labor experience.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Is on time and ready to work.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs repeatedly.
  • Thrives with physical work in all weather conditions.
  • Self motivated, with an interest in food and farming.
  • Able to work quickly with attention to detail within a team as well as alone.
  • Takes direction well and is always striving to improve.
  • Experience operating tractors is a plus but not required.
  • Strong communication skills and good attitude.
  • Experience with general farm mechanics and handyman skills is a plus.

As field crew, you will be engaged in all tasks involved with vegetable production including but not limited to field preparation with and without tractors. Duties include planting, cultivation, irrigation, harvest, pest and disease monitoring and control and all other tasks necessary for a successful growing season. This role will work closely with both the farm owner as well as other crew members. This position could require some weekend farmers market work for those interested. Winter work hours vary with the weather and season but our days generally start at 9am and finish by 5pm.

Compensation starts at $17 – $19 per hour depending on experience. Free veggies, seasonal performance bonus and pay increases in line with experience, seniority and commitment.
