Mobile Market Manager – Nuestras Raices

The Nuestras Raices Mobile Market Manager will be responsible for the daily operations of our mobile market, overseeing logistics, inventory, customer service, and community engagement to ensure the successful delivery of fresh, healthy, and affordable produce to underserved communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Operations:
- Schedule and coordinate mobile market stop.
- Maintain current relationships with partners and develop new partnerships.
- Maintain a healthy relationship with NR farmers and develop new vendor relationships.
- Oversee the daily setup, breakdown, and organization of the mobile market at various locations.
- Manage inventory of fresh produce and other supplies, ensuring adequate stock and minimizing waste.
- Plan and execute displays and promotions to attract customers and maximize sales.
- Provide excellent customer service and address customer inquiries and concerns.
- Conduct surveys at market locations to gather feedback and improve customer experience.
- Organize and clean the market vehicle and equipment.
- Logistics and Procurement:
- Work with suppliers to order and receive produce and supplies, ensuring quality and quantity.
- Manage the transportation and storage of produce, maintaining freshness and quality
- Track inventory levels and place orders to prevent stockouts.
- Team Management:
- Supervise and train mobile market staff, ensuring they are knowledgeable
and provide excellent customer service. - Delegate tasks and responsibilities as needed.
- Motivate and support staff to achieve goals

- Community Engagement:
- Build relationships with community members and local organizations.
- Promote the mobile market and its mission to increase awareness and participation.
- Participate in community events and outreach activities.
- Financial Management:
- Manage cash handling and point-of-sale transactions.
- Track sales and expenses and prepare reports as needed.
- Other Duties:
- Assist with the presentation of the Mobile Market Program to clients at various off-site locations.
- Help weigh and inventory all produce leaving and returning the Nuestras Raices operation site.
- Attend Nuestras Raices events, festivals, and other community events as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or NR Executive Director.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of food safety and handling practices.
- Experience in inventory management and logistics.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment.
- Passion for food equity and community outreach.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and carry produce boxes.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle.
Compensation + benefits: The Mobile Market Manager role is a part-time seasonal position (30hrs/week), compensated at $25.00/hrs. Benefits include paid federal holidays and sick time accrual.
