NEPM: Windrow Farm

Jae Silverman is a farmer without their own land. They describe their hay operation as “much like a travelling circus.” Jae started with 9 acres, and is currently farming 70 acres of hay, scattered all over Conway.

Jae says, “It’s really a matter of managing what’s already there and improving that quality through fertility and some of these fields I’ve been haying for a decade or more and just watch that quality come back.”

Forage and haymaking is the largest agricultural land use in the state. Listen to this episode of the #localherospotlight to learn more.
