NEPM: Old Creamery Co-op

If you drive out Route 9, heading West, you’ve reached the Old Creamery Co-op when you see the building with the cow on the roof. This small grocery store/cafe/Hilltown gift shop has been cooperatively owned since 2012.
General Manager, Lloyd Miller, says, “There’s seven cooperative principles, and one of them is definitely supporting local. That’s why we’re here. We are so pleased that this rich farmland provides our produce locally.”
It takes a village to survive in the Hilltowns. Miller continues, “We have a wonderful aggregator up the road–shout out to Ruby, over at Oliver’s Farm stand up in Goshen–She does an amazing job of like traveling and building this net between all these local producers and we get to benefit from that because as a grocery store we can’t do everything.”
