Pig butchering workshop

Ape & Ape will be hosting a Pig Butchering Workshop on 8/26/13 from 9am-12:30pm
Cost: $30
Participants will learn how to slaughter, dress and prepare large animals into meat in a conscientious manner – in this case two male guinea hogs, a heritage breed. We’ll follow traditional butchering and preservation methods, ending with a variety of cuts, and organ meats, and begin rendering lard, and curing ham, bacon and sausage. All parts of the animals will be used.
