Documentary Film: Food For Change

New Film Food For Change Examines Food Co-ops As Political & Economic Movement

Food For Change, a feature-length (85 min.) documentary from Home Planet Pictures, tells the story of the co-op movement in the U.S. through a combination of interviews, rare archival footage, and commentary by co-op leaders and historians. The film will have a special pre-showing in Greenfield, before the world premier in St. Paul, Minnesota. View the trailer here. Filmmaker Steve Alves will be in attendance. Tickets available through the Garden website or at the door. Proceeds from this showing will go to the co-op’s education and scholarship fund. In presenting food co-operative’s history, Food for Change features Franklin Community Co-op (Green Fields Market and McCusker’s Market) with interviews of local folks and footage of co-op activities and our local farmers.
