Biochar Banquet and Demonstration!

As part of the 2013 USBI North American Biochar Symposium at UMass Amherst, hosted by the Pioneer Valley Biochar Initiative in Belchertown, a farm to table “Biochar Banquet” will be served to the community. This banquet is an informal networking opportunity for people in the Pioneer Valley to taste and discuss the benefits of local food grown in well conditioned soil. Every item in the various food stations – from goat cheese to wine and from sausage to succotash – will have a regional story directly related to Biochar. Tickets are $55 or just $15 for conference attendees and include a free keynote address by Frances Moore Lappe, author of EcoMind, Hope’s Edge and Diet for a Small Planet.
