Is the potential increase in customer spending by accepting credit cards at a farmers market worth the credit card processing fees? Does having signage that my farm accepts credit cards really matter? Matt LeRoux has done the research and has the answers (which are YES and YES!!!). On Monday, March 18th (6-8 PM Est), join us for a workshop where Matt will shares how your Point-Of-Sale system can increase your farms sales.

And hear from Becca Rimmell of Bottomland Farm on how she uses her Square sales data to make decisions on her farm. The workshop is online, free of costs and sponsored by USDA/NIFA.

About the presenters:

Matt LeRoux, Extension Associate, Cornell University.  Matt has 20 years’ experience serving farms through Cornell Cooperative Extension, non-profits, and consulting. Specializing in market strategy, Matt works with a diverse mix of produce and livestock farmers and food businesses. Career highlights include developing the Marketing Channel Assessment Tool for produce growers and the Cornell Meat Price & Yield Calculator.

Becca Rimmel is co-owner of Bottomland Farm in Berkshire, NY, a small-scale diversified farm focusing on pasture-raised meats and eggs, along heirloom fruits and vegetables. Throughout their farming operation their focus on direct-to-consumer relationships and regenerative farming practices has allowed them to steward the land for food production, local ecosystems and for future generations. Prior to farming, Becca spent more than a decade managing a variety of Farmers Markets in the Northeast, including the Ithaca Farmers Market, and also holds a Masters in Sustainable Food Systems from Green Mountain College.
