Online Permaculture Course through UMass, Amherst Continuing Education
This course is great for people who work full time, are thinking about a career change, are interested taking a full PDC but want the basics, people who have worked on permaculture farms or projects but missed the theory and techniques and for people who wouldn’t otherwise be able to take a in person course. This is the course’s fourth year which pulls together a great group of students it pulls together from all over the world.
Spring semester: Tuesday, January 21st-Wednesday, April 30th

This course gives students a foundation in permaculture history, ethics, principles, design process, and practical applications, rooted in the observation of natural systems. By observing key ecological relationships, we can mimic and apply these beneficial relationships in the design of systems that serve humans while helping to restore the natural world. This course trains students as critical thinkers, observers, and analysts of the world(s) around them, and then goes on to provide students with the tools needed to design for inspired and positive change.
