NEPM: Kolakoski Farm Stand

Whether daily commuters or weekend visitors, drivers on Routes 5 & 10 in Deerfield, pass Kolakoski Farm Stand from asparagus season through pumpkins. Although the farm has been growing since 1923, Miriam Spaulding came to the farm in 1994, joining her husband farming in the land. The Kolakoski family grew cucumbers for the pickle factory in South Deerfield–“so many pickles,” she says. In 2015, Spaulding started growing asparagus and her husband built her a stand at the prime location where Kolakoski Farm stand is now.
