NEPM: Stoneman Brewery
It’s time for another #localherospotlight!
Jennifer and Monte visit Justin and Katie Korby of Stoneman Brewery. The brewery offered the first beer CSA in the country which offers a selection of their beers four times a year to members. Nestled in a beautiful spot, the drive beckons, but customers who are short on time can pick up at Pinehill Orchards. Their farm store is open one weekend per month.
Described as a “nano brewery” on their website, the Korbys source locally from within our region, including from their neighbors in Vermont. Beer rests in oak barrels from Berkshire Mountain Distillery, and all their grains are sourced through Valley Malt.
Keeping their operation a manageable size, brewer Justin Korby explains that they brew endless recipes in small batches. Some include local herbs, like tulsi and nettles, while spruce tips make an appearance too.
